The Radar 133: Mixed by Swayló
It’s no secret that house music has been spiking of late, drawing sonic influences from cultures across the globe as it simultaneously pervades a variety of worldly settings. Enter DJ/producer Swayló, a key contributor to this activity. Born in New Mexico, Swayló draws inspiration from multiple areas, and on The Radar 133, he demonstrates how techno, bass, hip-hop, and even tribal references can be fused in melodic, multi-genre synergy.
Swayló’s talents have taken him to various locales around the nation, nabbing him bookings at global festivals such as Spring Awakening and Sundance, while also securing him opening slots for ticket-topping acts like ZHU and Nora En Pure. On October 10, Swayló’s creative capacities brought him to Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive-In alongside Noizu and Dombresky for a groovy, 60-minute concoction that has exclusively made its way to Dancing Astronaut for The Radar 133.
Coined the “Open Up Ur Mind” mixtape by Swayló, The Radar 133 presents as a beat-heavy journey featuring fan favorite house jams like Gorgon City‘s remix of Sonny Fodera’s “Moving Blind” and Will Clarke and Born Dirty‘s “Boss Man,” among many others.
Swayló told Dancing Astronaut,
“Music is a powerful connector unifying people through rhythms, melodies, and sounds; even during times of separation. This mix weaves together various styles of house, tech house, hip-hop and world sounds.”
