Must-stream: ’10 Years Later,’ Afrojack renews Kapuchon alias

After 10 years of dormancy, Kapuchon has made his return with a single that titularly pays homage to the decade-long release gap that it now closes, “10 Years Later.” In mid-February, Afrojack announced via Tomorrowland‘s One World Radio that he would be renewing the then-inactive techno alias at Tomorrowland Winter 2020, where the “Ten Feet Tall” hitmaker was slated to play not only two sets under the Afrojack banner, but also one as Kapuchon.

Although Tomorrowland Winter did not come to fruition in March as planned, temporarily nullifying Afrojack’s live reinstallation of the alias, that didn’t mean that Kapuchon would stay in an interminable state of inactivity. In fact, Afrojack is only getting Kapuchon restarted.

On November 13, Afrojack rallied behind his Kapuchon project with the release of “10 Years Later,” an underground exposition of what streamers can expect from the alias’ ensuing releases. Noteworthy not only for its status as Kapuchon’s first production in 10 year’s time but also as Kapuchon Records’ inaugural offering, “10 Years Later” finds the creative behind both sonic engagements, Nick van de Wall, expanding both his catalog and his stake in the label market.
