MYRNE – Wandering EP

Singapore-based artist MYRNE first made his debut back in 2015 on Diplo’s Mad Decent Records. Since then he’s brought his classically trained style into the indie-electronic space with a string of LPs, co-productions, and solo hits. His name has also graced the billings on Ultra Music Fesrtival, Tomorrowland, Hard Summer, and more. But the one milestone he hasn’t checked off yet — a full length EP. That is, until now.

MYRNE masterfully carries the listener through a spectrum of soundscapes and emotions on his full length debut. “Wandering” includes four new, impeccably crafted singles, as well as his previously released singles “Forbidden Lovers,” “Sleeping On My Own Again,” and “Splinter.”

A shining example of 5 years worth of sonic maturation, “Wandering” follows an organic and deeply emotive through line that tracks with MYRNE’s own life. It’s a sonic expression of his experience satisfying his personal wanderlust and insatiable desire to see everything the world has to offer. The EP opens with the all new “Superstructure” a dreamy and breezy listen that sets the stage for the rest of the album. Then there’s “False Memory,” a strictly instrumental affair that carries all the power and pain of a love-worn nostalgia. Cody Lovaas joins the mix with the romantic ballad “Loving You is Scary” before Vania helps close things out on the ethereal and groovy “Creature Comforts.”

A collection of songs that I wrote while in a period of self-discovery and aimless wandering. Nature and day-to-day existence definitely inspired this record, and it feels very liberating writing music spontaneously without conscious planning. It was a little odd sitting down to write without a goal in mind, but once I overcame that barrier, the process was extremely fun and relaxing.” – MYRNE
