Watch Kiesza deliver a live acoustic rendition of deadmau5 collaboration, ‘Bridged By A Lightwave’

From all that he’s done in 2020, it’s clear that deadmau5 has kept fans happy as they await an album release date. In May, Joel Zimmerman kicked things off with “Pomegranate,” a collaboration with Pharrell‘s iconic side project The Neptunes. The joint project has since seen official remixes from Carl Cox, Jay Robinson, and more, all on top of a Peloton partnership where deadmau5 took over Spotify’s “Power Hour” playlist.

The mau5trap head honcho next took his talents to the road—literally—performing drive-in shows in cities like Atlanta and Chicago, the latter of which now lives exclusively on Apple Music. To top things off, on November 23, Zimmerman announced a grip of Southern California drive-in shows to ring in 2021.

It is virtually impossible to encapsulate all of deadmau5′ momentous 2020 activity to date in one article, but his recent creative partnership with Kiesza on “Bridged By A Lightwave,” which arrived part in parcel with a radio edit and an alternative mix on November 10, deserves a nod. If the original, radio edit, and alternative mix weren’t enough to satisfy even the most insatiable of deadmau5 fans, then listeners will delight in the knowledge that, in line with the producer’s tireless tear this 2020, a new version of the collaboration has emerged.

In a newly surfaced live video, Kiesza can be found atop what appears to be a festival stage, sitting with just a mic and guitar as she delivers an acousic rendition of hers and deadmau5′ joint effort. View the alternative version, aesthetically shot with nostalgic VHS effects, below.
