Zedd says he ‘started on’ third studio album, ‘recently talked’ to Porter Robinson about collaborating on new music

Zedd‘s third studio album, the lusted-after follow-up to 2015’s True Colors, has been put on “standby,” the producer disclosed in a r/music-hosted Reddit AMA held on November 18. In response to a fan-submitted question asking when the fabled project would arrive, Zedd stated,

“I decided to push back the album to when things are more back to normal. I really wanted it to come out this year but I put the album on standby because during quarantine I just didn’t feel the inspiration to make this the best album possible.”

The Grammy Award winner went on to say that he’s “started on” the LP and even has “some amazing songs close to finished already.” The news of the album’s postponement follows Zedd’s December 2019 Twitter confirmation that the long-form outing was slated to land in 2020.

It’s possible that the forthcoming effort could even feature a meeting of Zedd and Porter Robinson‘s musical minds. In a separate AMA response, the Interscope Records signee indicated that he’d “recently talked” to Robinson “about getting together and working on some music.” What comes next? Only time will tell.
