Aluna to curate remix compilation by African artists for AIDS crisis initiative

Since launching her solo artist trajectory, Aluna has reaped nothing less than a rewarding year. Now, she has partnered with Nigerian label Mavin Records on forthcoming remix compilation, Dance (RED) Save Lives Vol. III, landing in 2021. All proceeds from the record will go towards (RED)’s initiative to combat the AIDS crisis and reduce the impact of COVID-19 on HIV/AIDS programs in Africa.

Heading up taste-making for the series alongside label founder and president Don Jazzy, the English singer-songwriter will take on curatorial duties for the upcoming installment, succeeding Tiësto who presented the previous two volumes. The lead single, Aluna and Sigag Lauren’s remix of Ladipoe’s “Jaiye,” was unveiled recently in honor of World AIDS Day. On her involvement, Aluna stated,

“Being a part of a project like this is incredible because it gives me the opportunity to showcase that dance music is Black, which is something I’ve been discussing in the dance community, and at the same time raise money for HIV and COVID-19.”
