Dillon Francis grooves out in VIP remix of ‘Be Somebody’ with Evie Irie
For his latest track celebrating triumphs over doubters, Dillon Francis couldn’t pass up the chance to give “Be Somebody” a second look, and rightfully so. A little over a month after the original’s release, the IDGAFOS figurehead has re-upped his Evie Irie collaboration with a new house-centric VIP remix. The release lands as part of Francis’ official remix pack for “Be Somebody,” which offers up reworks from Moodshift and Xie.
Shifting from the predecessor’s dance-pop penchants to four-on-the-floor stylings, Francis’ VIP champions the harmonious pairing of Irie’s isolated vocals and a razor-sharp bass line, before segueing into bright piano progressions. Retaining the buzzy synth lead, the “happy house” remix reissues all the inspirational ingredients into its new structural home, diversifying the primary message into an equally-jubilant dance form.
