Kid Cudi lifts the curtain on series-concluding ‘Man on the Moon III: The Chosen’ LP

All good things must come to an end, including Kid Cudi‘s Man on the Moon triptych—but what a finale the Cleveland-native emcee provides.

Man on the Moon III: The Chosen‘s fateful delivery draws the 11-year Man on the Moon stretch to a close across 18 cuts that find Cudi firing on all cylinders, securing him a space in the race for most-talked-about album of 2020. The LP’s guest list is noticeably short, with a select number of artists—Trippie Redd, the late Pop Smoke, Skepta, and Phoebe Bridgers—soliciting Man on the Moon III: The Chosen invites.

After installing the series with Man on the Moon: The End of Day in 2009, following it up with 2010’s The Legend of Mr. Rager, and now, putting forth a closer that samples Tom Hanks in Cast Away, Tame Impala, the Nicholas Britell-produced score for The King, and more, Kid Cudi declares himself ready to return to Earth.
