Kotek instates bass intricacy on new EP, ‘Sonoglyph Pt. 2’

Rising talent Kotek continues to make his mark on the bass landscape, returning with a new five-track EP, Sonoglyph Pt. 2. Showcasing a dynamic range of production skills, the experimental artist deploys a hybrid package of electronic sonics as he steps the line between analog and organic. Championing support from Alison Wonderland, Zeds Dead, Kill The Noise, and more, Kotek unravels his latest display of complexity.

The Pt. 1 successor journeys through a multitude of sound design as Kotek instills enchanting juxtapositions into his heavy-hitting tracks. Often pairing harmonious compositions with enormous bass drops—as made evident on “System of Chaos”—the luminary immerses listeners in crisp drum lines, glitchy auditory experiences, and cinematic multiverses. Kotek excels in his perceptive mastery of crossover influences, with glimpses of drum ‘n’ bass on “Index,” skittering breakbeats on “Lost In Translation,” and mid-tempo and rock on “Constellation.” On his creative process, Kotek states,

“The Sonoglyph project started as an experiment revolving around dissecting all the components of creating music. I wanted to see if there was a way to analyze the fundamental building blocks used to create sound. Then it was just a matter of looking for patterns and seeing if I could figure out a new way to reassemble those blocks. I learned a lot of interesting new things that I plan on bringing with me into future projects!”
