Rad Cat departs from pop-synth cheer for darker expression, ‘Diamond’ with Gloria Kim

Christian Ariza, better known under his high-spirited, electro-pop moniker, Rad Cat, has broken away from his classic sound to introduce a more harrowing, yet wildly energetic expression, “Diamond” featuring Gloria Kim.

Lifting off with a brooding opening, the song plunges deep into Kim’s cutting vocals and a flurry of bass-driven synths. A pointed proclamation birthed from the ruins of a recent break up, “Diamond” simultaneously dives into a grisly emotional state while remaining on high energy levels. Joined with lyricism that demands to be heard and processed, the track instates a dynamic triumph in both execution and concept.

Following the self-released future bass heater, “Levitate,” “Diamond” marks Rad Cat’s debut on Dim Mak‘s New Noise imprint. The 24-year-old San Diego-native has already seen major successes, including features on Samsung and Nintendo commercials, as well as production and remix credits from huge names from the likes of Enrique Iglesias, blackbear, and Kevin Gates.

Stream below and expect to hear more from Rad Cat in the near future.
