Saturday Night Session 045: Andrew Rayel reveals why ‘Silver Lining’ sets the tone for 2021 and talks finding balance

Few moments are more sacred than the reprieve Saturday night provides from the daily grind of school and work. Its importance is meant to be emphasized, and thus, a feature dedicated to “doing the night right” was born. Saturday Night Sessions are set around energizing mixes meant to get the (socially distanced) party started. New or old, each episode has one cornerstone thing in similarity: they serve as the perfect backdrop for the weekend pregame.

There is something special about knowing what one’s sound and preferred genre is, and then sticking to that as a music producer. In a world where there is a lot of pressure to homogenize as a mainstream music producer, Andrew Rayel has devoted his career to Trance music, and he has paved a lot of paths for other artists within the genre. Whether it is through his “Find Your Harmony” radio show or his inHarmony record label, the producer keeps the Trance community fed with content and plays a huge role in building opportunities for up and coming artists to watch.

In addition to his Trance roots, Rayel has found ways to experiment with his sound while still staying true to who he is as an artist. This is exemplified through his newest release “Silver Lining.” Thanks to punching vocals that have been fused with a piano and instrumental based backdrop, the track combines sharp edge with the euphoric sound that fans are accustomed to – all of which blend brilliantly with the electronic melody that becomes the focal point during each climactic drop.

“Silver Lining” brings a piece of summer to what is, for many, a dark winter. Rayel talks about the release, explaining the significance of the track’s message and how mindset can shape any situation. He shares, “Silver Lining is something that truly comes in the times we’re in, but if you really think about it, it’s actually your entire life process. We go through so many experiences in life, good and bad ones, and I truly believe in every situation no matter how hard it is, finding the silver lining of sides will help you move forward. So I truly hope we all try to think that in time of need and I hope you will enjoy this record as much as I do!”

“Silver Lining” is not a typical Rayel release, and when asked the question of what his favorite output of all time is, he answered, “Ha, that’s like asking whose your favorite child. I LOVE ALL MY CHILDREN!”

While Rayel has his own record label with inHarmony, the producer is an Armada Music mainstay whose output is nothing short of extensive. He released five singles in 2020, and “Find Your Harmony” is nearing its 250th episode. Staying busy is in the producer’s nature when it comes to his work, which provides the perfect contrast to what he shares are his recent hobbies. Rayel is nothing short of relatable when he comments, “Define hobbies…does walking from your fridge to your couch or studio one of them? If so, I have mastered the art of it.”

Rayel is entering 2021 with a renewed sense of focus when it comes to balance. This is displayed through his new musical direction with “Silver Lining” and his personal balance of family, friends, and hobbies alongside his work. Rayel leaves fans with a Saturday Night Session that is nothing short of “Melodic and Euphoric” to get their Saturdays going in an effort to keep the energy alive and Trance fans excited.

Can you tell us more about your new release “Silver Lining”?

Silver Lining is something that truly comes in the times we’re in, but if you really think about it, it’s actually your entire life process. We go through so many experiences in life, good and bad ones, and I truly believe in every situation no matter how hard it is, finding the silver lining of sides will help you move forward. So I truly hope we all try to think that in time of need and I hope you will enjoy this record as much as I do!

You are nearing your 250th episode of your “Find Your Harmony Radio Show,” which is a big milestone. How do you yourself find harmony in your everyday life?

YES! 250 episodes coming up, super excited for that, we’re going to announce details for that soon, as well as the anthem! It’s been such a huge journey with radio show and seeing it grow from the bottom up, the community and love we get, being able to promote artists and help them just like help was given to me at the start of my career. Which to me is part of finding my harmony, and of course balancing that out between my personal life & family connection.

Where do you draw creative inspiration from?

From my day to day experiences, tour life…well lol, but in general its our day to day experiences we go thru, seeing what’s happening around the world, remember moments from shows that always excite and inspire me…it’s a combination of a lot of things to be honest…

Do you have a favorite release you have ever produced?

Ha, that’s like asking whose your favorite child. I LOVE ALL MY CHILDREN!

What has your life during quarantine looked like? Have you picked up any new hobbies?

Define hobbies…does walking from your fridge to your couch or studio one of them? If so, I have mastered the art of it. But more than that been taking up more cooking classes with my girlfriend, playing the piano helps me a lot, painting, and oh let’s not forget BBQing!

Are there any up and coming Trance artists who have particularly impressed you lately?

For sure, couple of names from our inHarmony camp are doing some fantastic things…Robbie Seed, Tensteps, Chuckiess &Whackboi to name a few.

What kind of a Saturday night will your Saturday Night Session get listeners ready for?

Melodic & Euphoric!
