BIJOU has initiated his return to Night Bass Records with a three-track EP, 187 Proof. The Phoenix-based DJ and producer makes his G-house prowess known in the amalgamation of early house and hip-hop influences and the aid of Buffalo and Sacramento rappers, Elcamino and J. Sirus.

187 Proof expands on BIJOU’s admiration for both East Coast and West Coast rap, evident on “Liquid Swords,” which extracts the very same samples that can be found on Wu-Tang member GZA’s second solo studio album. Both “Big Racks” and “Zodiac” further bridge the gap between dance music and hip-hop, embodying the tastemaker’s evolved and diverse range of sound while still tapping into the old-school and modern influences that constitute his roots.
