Newcomer Tyler Young signals his arrival with debut single, ‘My Time’

When dancefloors across the world do finally reopen, expect an eager new crop of talent to start rocking club decks and festival stages. Among them, look for LA-based newcomer Tyler Young. The emerging beatmaker has handed in his debut single, “My Time,” via Thrive Music, and by the sound of it, Young is certainly itching to get back out on the floor too.

“My Time” is a carefree, grooving house cut that proudly wears its “dance like nobody’s watching” appeal on its sleeve. Packed with echoing vocal chops courtesy of UK singer/songwriter Hayley May, plucky piano work, and a funky, floor-primed bassline, the track encapsulates that euphoric club feel while also serving as a bold official introduction to Young’s sound.

Young brings a dynamic blend of influences to his music, drawing from the hip-hop records that played at home as a child as well as a life-changing introduction to electronic music by way of Daft Punk’s iconic Coachella performance in 2006. A decade and a half since that performance and the countless campus weekend DJ gigs that set Young onto his current path, the burgeoning producer now has his debut single under his belt, and something tells us, a whole lot more where that came from.
