Virgil Abloh returns in style—stream his and Fela Kuti’s remix of ‘Peace Of Mind’
Virgil Abloh‘s latest design? An accessory to Rema‘s December 2020 single, “Peace Of Mind.”
With a demonstrated eye for complementary stylings, Abloh and his discerning eye align with Fela Kuti for a sophisticated rework of the Rema original that precedes Afrobeats-influenced DANCE (RED) SAVE LIVES Vol. III. Abloh and Kuti’s creative interplay arrives as a teaser to the LP, curated entirely by Aluna and Don Jazzy, and slated to release on April 2. All proceeds from the sale of DANCE (RED) SAVE LIVES Vol. III will be directed to (RED) to support the nonprofit organization’s COVID-19 relief efforts in sub-Saharan Africa, where (RED) specifically seeks to mitigate the pandemic’s impact on lifesaving HIV/AIDS programs.
Horns confer a cosmopolitan appeal to Abloh and Kuti’s reframing. Abloh, a longtime (RED) advocate, commented,
“Rema the future, you can hear it in voice and see it in his presence. This creative collaboration with (RED) and Mavin Records has provided a platform for artists to create and give back to the community at the same time—I’m proud that my artistry can inspire and ultimately help those affected by COVID-19.”
DANCE (RED) SAVE LIVES Vol. III will collate material from Aluna, Felix Da Housecat, Sofi Tukker, TOKiMONSTA, and more. As listeners anticipate the LP to come, they can soundtrack the wait time with Abloh and Kuti’s remix, available to stream below.
