Concertgoers at Red Rocks Amphitheater can get now get vaccinated onsite with new ‘a shot, a pop, and a shirt’ promotion

Concertgoers at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheater will now be able to get a COVID-19 vaccination shot alongside select musical performances beginning May 13. The venue is doing a promotion that offers “a shot, a pop, and a shirt.” Those who get vaccinated at select concerts will receive a voucher for concessions and a Red Rocks 80th anniversary t-shirt.

“The entertainment industry only works when people are able to gather together, and a healthy audience is vitally important at Red Rocks,” said Red Rocks spokesman Brian Kitts. “We’re making it easy to come to a concert and leave knowing that our fans have protected themselves, their families and their fellow music lovers.”

The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment will oversee the distribution of vaccines, and the effort is a creative way for the DDPHE to focus on vaccinating younger concert goers who may not have previously had access to the vaccine.

The first concert fans will be able to receive a vaccine onsite is Diplo and SIDEPIECE‘s Higher Ground show on May 13, which will have 100 single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines for any person over the age of 18, available on a first-come, first-served basis. The news comes just days after the Avett Brothers posted that they received notice that Red Rocks would likely be open at full capacity for their three shows, slated to take place beginning on July 9.
