Gustavo Mota and Naizon join forces for newest output, ‘What The Funk’

Gustavo Mota and Naizon have teamed up for some new house heat, “What The Funk.” Brazilian producer Gustavo Mota has been building out a flourishing catalog of work over the past seven years, dabbling in genres ranging from progressive house to dubstep and psytrance, with much more in between. Joining him on his latest is Naizon, offering his tech house sensibilities to the joint production. Mota and Naizon appear to bring the best out of one another on their new joint effort, with Gustav Mota artfully riffing off of Naizon’s sharpened production acumen.

Like its name suggests, “What The Funk” naturally opens with a gripping, energetic percussion arrangement, instantly sparking the fire behind the track’s upbeat intonation. Powered by an amped bass line and a catchy melody, “What The Funk” ups the ante with a perfectly complementary vocal track that secures the tune’s spot on summer-ready playlists and poolside setlists this season.

The track also arrives amid Naizon’s newest venture, “Naiz:On AIR—a brand new radio show that finds the selector curating his favorite underground house gems, often paired with special guests, and broadcast on more than 20 global radio stations across the world, including the Netherlands, the US, Germany, Greece and more. With this new collaborative effort adding to Naizon’s steep upward trajectory, both Naizon and Gustav Mota are positioned for big things as dance floors begin to open back up across the globe.

“What The Funk” lands by way of  Suitor and parent label Mix Feed. Listen below.
