Petit Biscuit packages ‘Pick Your Battles’ EP rife with reworks
After commissioning recastings of Parachute tracklistings from 12 fine minds on April’s Parachute Remixes LP, Petit Biscuit re-emerges as the curator behind a smattering of “Pick Your Battles” spins. The “Pick Your Battles” remix EP pins the Parisian’s original, produced alongside Diplo, to the top of the effort. A new, Petit-crafted “VIP Mix,” along with previously submitted takes from Malaa and Slow Magic, continue the re-imaginative procession, which ultimately culminates in a name unfamiliar to most who will come across the EP: FATESKY.
A two-artist team working out of Lyon, France, FATESKY orchestrate a formidable finale to the remix EP. And, their role as the project’s closer is no coincidence; FATESKY notably took the title of victor in Petit Biscuit’s “Pick Your Battles” Remix Contest, initiated on March 10.
“FATESKY’s entry to the Pick Your Battles remix contest grabbed me immediately,” Petit Biscuit said. “The counter-melody they created with the synth line takes the song to a totally different place. It was a pleasure getting to support another French artist, too!”
