Hidden Face surrenders final Grand Lake set IDs on debut This Never Happened EP, ‘Need U’

For those keeping score at home, only a pair of yet-to-be released IDs still remained on the board from one of 2020’s single most memorable virtual showings, Lane 8‘s sunrise set afloat Colorado’s Grand Lake. Dancing Astronaut has relentlessly tracked the movements of each and every one of them since the stream’s September premiere, and that pursuit has reached its finish line as Hidden Face christens his name behind the two originals on a three-sided This Never Happened EP and his sophomore EP of the calendar, Need U.

Signaling Hidden Face’s first-ever walkthrough on Lane 8’s deep-pocketed residence, Need U outfits the Parisian with a trifecta of crisp productions. With each tracklisting waving its own respective flag of darkened, dynamic melodic house, Hidden Face’s EP surrenders both the back-to-back forenamed Grand Lake IDs—now formally branded as the EP’s eponymous number and “Lunar Attraction,” as well as “Falling Down,”—to provide some optimism that the three will inevitably resurface during the label head’s replanned Brightest Lights tour.
