Cazztek places incendiary house spin on The Funk Hunters, Defunk, Akylla’s ‘Warn Ya’
After coalescing on their Canadian-powered triple collaboration “Warn Ya,” The Funk Hunters, Defunk, and Akylla revisit the mid-tempo jewel with the first of several re-imaginations. The first guest leading the charge is Las Vegas house maestro Cazztek. Equipped with three records in 2021 including the Sara Diamond-assisted “Better Off” and STMPD RCRDS‘ “Feet So Hot,” Cazztek ushers in the latest piece of his party-fueled tech-house pursuit.
Featuring all-familiar grooves from the producer’s arsenal, Cazztek’s revamp packs slick bass choreo and electrifying melodic progressions into a versatile four-on-the-floor bedrock. Upheaving the original’s cinematic bass execution in favor of more rhythmic preferences, Cazztek nonetheless highlights Akylla’s haunting vocals in a way that stays true to the single’s essence and simultaneously points to his own production flair.
