BRUX heads over to Deadbeats for ‘Covet’
Australian music producer, BRUX is making her Deadbeats debut with her new single, “Covet.” Featuring a unique analog sound, BRUX’s lyrics point out flaws in consumerism. Speaking on the track, BRUX said,
“‘Covet’ is all about materialism—being blinded and ruled by it in these unhealthy times of social media…now more than ever.”
The popping instrumentals find BRUX singing “I want what you’ve got,” as she lists expensive consumer items. Gesturing to Teslas, Dolce & Gabbana, and other items that could be considered superfluously costly, she muses, “The plastic in your cars, the plastic in your ass, plastic in your bras, Maserati in the grass.” Listen to the musical contemplation of materialism below.
