DubVision try their hand at future rave on electric rework of David Guetta, Afrojack’s ‘Hero’

There’s a fortunate group out there that was able to secure a personal copy of DubVision’s unreleased bootleg of Swedish House Mafia’sLifetime,” and Victor and Stephan Leicher also have another rework ready—this time officially released—for the public to hear in high quality. Following their long-awaited meeting with the “A State Of Trance” king, DubVision have been called in by David Guetta and Afrojack to work their magic on “Hero.” The spin now joins”Silver Lining” and “Gold,” fellow remixes on DubVision’s 2021 slate.

Although they didn’t formally appear on the original’s headline when it premiered on Dancing Astronaut at the end of April, DubVision were actually involved in its delivery, with the brothers being credited as behind-the-scenes co-producers of “Hero.” DubVision reworked Guetta and Afrojack once before in 2017—which landed four years ago to the day—and this time around, they chose to trade in progressive house for an unexpected future rave lap. DubVision meticulously pull a page out of David Guetta and MORTEN’s playbook, replacing the golden age-esque feeling with their own electric, creditable version of the future rave duo’s direction that’s forcefully revitalized the main stage-driven house sound of the current era.
