Ry Hill dispenses deep house single from forthcoming EP—stream ‘Distracted’

Indie-electronic artist Ry Hill has materialized a melancholic, deep house offering ahead of his self-titled debut EP. Dubbed “Distracted,” the single arrives on the heels of Hill’s lead-off single, “Staring At The Sun,” which landed alongside the emerging artist’s first-ever music video in May.

Ry Hill, born Cameron DeFaria, began DJ’ing at renowned Los Angeles nightclubs at the age of 17. The now-23-year-old’s debut performances saw him provide support for SOULECTION’s Sango at Couture Hollywood and even headline a charity event next to the same imprint’s very own Lake Len at The Fonda Theater. Having accrued north of 1 million streams on SoundCloud, Hill seeks to capitalize on his well-received SoundCloud remixes with an original deep-house gem. In a recent press release, Hill explained,

“I would describe ‘Distracted’ as melancholic bliss. I wanted to convey the message of not feeling truly seen or heard by a loved one, but in a simplistic fashion. The redundancy of the lyric is purposeful; it’s meant to awaken someone from their current distractions, probably those caused by social media. Why are you so distracted when you have all of me?”

Driven by Hill’s edited vocal layered over a honeyed piano sequence, “Distracted” is now streaming everywhere.
