Amsterdam Dance Event advances with festival plans for 2021 under new regulations

After facing a looming cloud of uncertainty for 2021’s planned event, Amsterdam Dance Event announces the festival be moving forward from October 13 – 17, despite new public regulations in place. In their latest press conference, the Dutch government announced their plans to gradually loosen COVID restrictions, and drop social distancing requirements in the coming weeks, however clubs and indoor venues are still to remain closed between midnight and 06:00. In a press release, ADE states all events will be reviewed with the goal of shifting them to daytime hours, in order to comply with the current measures.

With the ever-changing regulations and challenges presented, ADE has also announced the cancellation of their ADE Pro conference, instead focusing all efforts on hosting a safe, and memorable week of festival events.

These changes come shortly after thousands of Dutch protestors hit the streets on September 11, in support of the “Unmute Us” initiative. These protests were held to draw international attention to the ongoing shutdown of the nightlife industry throughout the pandemic. The protests drew over 150,000 people across the country, for what was deemed their largest protest in history.
