Both Aspyer and Matluck had already proven themselves to be a STMPD RCRDS match made in heaven twice before on 2018’s “Try Not To Love You” with Dzeko and 2019’s “Don’t Tell Me” with Matisse & Sadko. To complete their collaborative trinity, Aspyer and Matluck reasonably decided to do without a third name in the mix, taking another lap around Martin Garrix’s label alongside only each other on “Somebody To Hold.”

“Somebody To Hold” had been more than a year in the making, with the two reconvening in 2020 to lay down the framework for what would ultimately culminate in their junior meeting. Stirring in Aspyer’s guitar-driven progressive flair with Matluck’s perpetually heartening vocals, “Somebody To Hold” enters as another prized crossover between the two that will likely find its way into Martin Garrix’s sets as he now resumes touring.
