Centineo taps into whimsy on fairytale-like single, ‘Believe Again’

Tim Centineo, known musically by his surname, is cultivating his catalog by leveraging visual storytelling and sonics to push out productions that relate narratives. The latest example comes in the form of “Believe Again,” which harkens back to the progressive sounds of the 2012-2015 “golden era” while simultaneously glancing backward at the childlike ability to believe without doubt or other mental fetters. Using the images of storybook pages and font reminiscent of that used in a fairytale, Centineo creates a visual accompaniment to “Believe Again” that expounds on the single’s whimsy with stardust and other motifs signature to the literary genre.

Sonically, “Believe Again” is a heartening outing that, in its casting of an earnest, male-vocalized topline in an uplifting framework, can feel Armin van Buuren-esque at times. The single trails his recent appearance alongside Niles Mason on March’s “Fearless (Radio Edit)” and can be both seen and heard in its storybook glory below.
