Brooklyn’s own The Golden Pony links up with the Golfclap’s label, Country Club Disco, to release a two track stomper of an EP, aptly-titled ‘Damn Son.’ A masterclass is tech house scorchers, the title track is driven by a deep rumbling bass line and the instantly recognizable “Damn Son” sample. It’s cheeky build leads into a siren-blaring break down that bumps, flails and shuffles in way into your psyche. The B-side, “Lady Out Here,” sticks with the sample formula but dolls up the tech house with an even more industrial paint job. There’s a bit of dark psychedelia in the mix too, thanks to swirling white noise and atmospheric synths with dark dance floors and after hours warehouses in mind.
