The Him looks to ‘Better Days’ on uplifting STMPD RCRDS debut with KOOLKID
Earlier this year, The Him broke the news that Steven Berghuijs would be departing the project that first came about in 2013, with Jeroen Kerstens taking the musical and touring reigns moving forward. But with a new chapter comes new triumphs and milestones, and one of those has now arrived in the form of The Him’s first-ever original on STMPD RCRDS titled “Better Days,” following a 2016 rework of “In The Name Of Love.”
“Better Days” marks both The Him’s debut solo outing since the split and his first of the current calendar, with the Amsterdam native calling in KOOLKID for a single that fittingly sums up a hopeful global forecast for the near future. While The Him might look different on the outside, the admirable production level that’s been apparent for the past half-decade-plus isn’t shifting as he intertwines his quintessential piano-house led sound with KOOLKID’s heartening spirit that speaks to both The Him’s new journey and the world’s battle through the pandemic.
