Out of a house cannon comes Rich Furniss, Apollo XO’s ‘I’ll Be There’
With percussive drive, Rich Furniss and Apollo XO merge creative synergies, deriving “I’ll Be There.” The simmering house number carries an effervescence offset by a deeper melody adorned with a looping vocal sample. It comes as Furniss’ first single under this newly forged alias, and though streamers are unlikely to immediately recognize “Rich Furniss” as a project belonging to the founding member of Passè, who has also placed tunes under the name MopTop, they should expect to see more house- and disco-flavored content come out of the moniker in the months to succeed “I’ll Be There.”
For Apollo XO, the single nestles into a lively bed of 2021 releases, most recently trailing the producer’s October 15 Abel feature, “Control.” “I’ll Be There” formalizes Apollo XO’s seventh overall release this year, and given his vigorous live schedule, which accommodates a whopping 200-plus sets a year, listeners can expect to catch this one on local dance floors sooner rather than later.
