Premiere: Mersiv and Akylla confront their ‘Ghosts’ on new joint single

With Mersiv‘s debut album, Pretty Dark Loud slated to be released on Friday, October 22, the producer has one more offering ahead of the LP’s release. Teaming up with Akylla, Mersiv’s latest single, “Ghosts,” can be streamed a day early exclusively with Dancing Astronaut.

Heavy notes and dark instrumentals encapsulate the inky, almost harrowing atmosphere within Mersiv’s sound. Akylla’s contrasting vocals describe that “the ghosts in my head are calling again/I’ll drift into space, again and again.” The track successfully juxtaposes delicately delivered topline vocals with the harsh buzz-tooth grind of the track’s low-end. The pairing creates an emotional track that finds the two balancing one another out for a well-rounded final product.

“Ghosts” caps off Pretty Dark Loud‘s run of pre-release singles, which include “Forest Creature” and “The Death Note.” Fitting snuggly into the other two tracks, the single teases what else fans can expect from the full LP.
