Gorgon City revisit ‘Olympia’ with 12 far-reaching takes on their junior album
As Gorgon City made the final turn on their last lap of Olympia tour stops in the U.S., they decided it was only fitting that they renewed their junior album. With only two dates remaining at Los Angeles’ The Shrine and Brooklyn’s Avant Gardner, Gorgon City gave new life to their four-month-old LP by tapping in a grand total of 12 different remixers—some new and some old—for a formal remix package of Olympia.
Headlined by the likes of previously delivered takes from Dancing Astronaut Artist To Watch in 2021 John Summit, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Snakehips, and t e s t p r e s s, the Olympia renewal sees Franky Wah, Terrace, Local Dialect, Gianni Keys, Ben Kim, Miane, and Salomé Le Chat joining in to put their own unique production stamp on the English duo. Through each of the 12 distinctive reworks, the Olympia remixes touch upon house, techno, and everything in between, with Gorgon City doubling down on one of the year’s most memorable bodies of work.
