TNGHT return with ‘Tums,’ share avant-garde video accompaniment
Hudson Mohawke and Lunice have come together once again on their TNGHT project for the first time since their 2019 EP II. This time, the iconic duo offer a new single alongside an accompanying music video for their latest triumph, “Tums.” Encapsulating their decades worth of production expertise, the feel-good track hits streaming platforms ahead of their Los Angeles show at the Catwalk on November 6.
Keeping it simple, the duo commented on their headspace while creating the latest endeavor,
“That feeling seemed to inspire the first principles of the TNGHT project: Keep it really fun. Dumb. Hard-hitting. Don’t overwork it.”
Venerated music video director Dan Streit lends his directorial hand to the “Tums” music video, bringing an expertise that has seen him on projects for industry titans such as Diplo, RL Grime, Dillon Francis, Boy Noize, and more. With Streit’s experimental animation, the “Tums” video follows the faux smiles and various versions of HudMo and Lunice, capturing an experimentally jovial world.
