“Not quite done yet in 2021.” With that fateful utterance, longstoryshort directed to streaming platforms his Love We Had EP. Released via Dr. Fresch‘s House Call Records, the twofer comes with high praise from the label founder, who stated on Twitter that he was “honored to drop” the EP and acknowledged longstoryshort’s productions as those that are “pushing the genre forward.” These accolades, coupled with the advent of longstoryshort’s first appearance on House Call Records, seem to signal a sort of tipping point for the New York native, who’s translated his inventive, outside-the-box touch to bass-house productions since 2019, and is now beginning to get the industry looks of which he’s long been deserving.

The Love We Had EP is longstoryshort’s seventh release of the year and directly succeeds his official remix of Doctor P‘s “Won’t Let Go,” distributed by Circus Records in mid-October. 2021 has also seen longstoryshort touch down on Night Mode, JustUs Records, and Pilot.
