Robert Darshae Kiér Boyd is a fast-rising, talented artist who, against all odds, has scaled the heights of the music industry. Orphaned from a very young age, growing up in foster care presented him with many challenges—he didn’t always have food to eat, and he would borrow spare change from strangers.

Darshae’s story is about how a foster kid rose from very little to being knighted as most likely to succeed. He knew the only way to get through college was by joining the military, so he joined the U.S. Marines, giving him the opportunity to build his inner confidence. After pursuing his education and completing his Ph.D, he discovered an untapped fascination with music, and came to love every detail of it as an art form and access point.

Darshae uses his life experiences and turns them into creative and impactful music. Releasing his music on platforms such as SoundCloud, Spotify, and Instagram, his current catalogue spans nine singles including “Translation”, “Halasana Girl”, and “Moonlight”, with an impending EP on the horizon. Aside from being a music artist, multi-faceted Darshae is also a budding screenplay writer, author, and public speaker. “To say I am an artist may be a bit short-sighted. I am a brand, a part of a community, a season of change, and a reason to remain. I stand out because my artistry is a book chapter filled with stories longing to be told,” he explains.

His journey to become the successful person he is today has not been easy. The biggest hurdle was losing his mother and brother. He didn’t have an opportunity to explore what it felt like to experience love, and up to now, he admits he will never get 100% over the loss. Still, Darshae is committed to showing how he molded himself into an artist because of that loss.

Additionally, growing up in foster care wasn’t easy. He had to go through racial discrimination, stereotyping, and bullying. Darshae advises that even though you could lose everyone you love, your responsibility is to manage your freedom to create more love. He also emphasizes that people should be the difference they want to see in the world, and they should endeavor to make an impact in society.

Darshae aspires to build something unique for artists, writers, and authors, those with self-esteem issues, those who believe life would be better without them, and those who are successful but somewhere along the way lost their identities. He aims to be a signed label music artist, author, podcaster, public speaker, and status quo change maker.
