It’d been more than three years since Gryffin last hosted an edition of his iconic “Flight Log” series, but on January 5, he gave a sign of life that it would finally make its grand return in 2022. Gryffin’s series dates all the way back to the SoundCloud era of dance music in 2015 and the resumption of it couldn’t have come at a better time. In between the rollout for what may potentially turn into his sophomore album, Gryffin has not only delivered his seventh mix, but also welcomed a new branch of it with “Flight Log Destinations.”

Taking to the Malibu oceanside once again with his dog Gigi—after streaming on his deck during the inaugural Digital Mirage—Gryffin swaps out the audio-only format of “Flight Log” for an in-person recording, perfectly soundtracking a California sunset through nearly 50 minutes of house music, rinsing John Summit’s “Human,” Gorgon City and DRAMA’s “You’ve Done Enough,” Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2022 Far Out’s “Returning To You” rework alongside “Desire,” Deniz Koyu’s “Piece Of Me” rework, and more. While only time will tell what other calming settings Gryffin will travel to in the future considering the new spin-off name for the series, start the week with the long-awaited return of “Flight Log” below.
