The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its nominees for the class of 2022, and among them are A Tribe Called Quest, Dolly Parton, Rage Against The Machine, Beck, Duran Duran, and more.

This marks the first time that Eminem, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, A Tribe Called Quest, Duran Duran, and Beck have appeared on the ballot. Of note, Eminem is only artist of the bunch to appear during his first year of eligibility.

Artists become eligible to join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after their first commercial recording debuted. Dionne Warwick, Rage Against The Machine, New York Dolls, Kuti, Devo, and Kate Bush were all been nominated in 2021; however, they were not inducted.

The latest series of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will be announced in May, with the gala to celebrate the inauguration, which will take place next fall. Nominees are selected by a voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians and members of the music industry.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was first founded in 1986, with Ray Charles, James Brown, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everly Brothers, Fats Domino, and Sam Cook making up the inaugural class.
