“Gasoline,” but make it tech-house. That was precisely Chuwe’s approach when revisiting and refashioning Daddy Yankee’s dance floor-favored single, “Gasoline.” Although “Gasolina” and tech-house might dwell on very different ends of the music continuum, the New York-anchored act merges them not only skillfully, but also with dance-worthy flair. Armored with spry percussion, looping verses lifted from the original, and climactic builds that could successfully get even the most reserved of wallflowers to move, Chuwe’s take on the club essential powerfully refuels “Gasolina” as streamers know it.

In a press release, the up-and-comer, who’s earned early support from Diplo, DJ Snake, Skrillex, Major Lazer, NGHTMRE, and more, cited his desire to recast the 2004 cut—which was released nearly two decades ago—in a tech-house framework that would suit any dance floor. He hits his target, doing just that.

Chuwe’s developing resume plays host to various highlights, such as play out on iHeartRadio, BBC One, Diplo’s “Revolution” channel on SiriusXM Radio, and stints at Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Coachella, EDC Las Vegas, and EDC Mexico. Stream his latest effort below.
