EX MEDIAS collective issues inaugural ‘WE ARE EX MEDIAS’ compilation album
Electronic scene, meet EX MEDIAS. Originally founded to shed light on underexposed artists and genres in the Chicago area, EX MEDIAS has expanded in the time since its establishment, rising to the status of a nationwide collective that seeks to assist artists in their ascension in the dance domain.
“I’ve been wanting to bring the idea of EX MEDIAS to life for years now, a collective and community based on support and helping each other while also putting work into our crafts. It’s been a long road, but we’re finally here, and I could not be prouder than I am of all the talented artists and friends that have joined me on this vision,” said EX MEDIAS founder, Able Grey. “This year is going to be a big one, and I don’t think it would be the same without this ‘family’ that has come to fruition throughout this process. To think that this is just the beginning of a specific journey is mind-blowing. We are EX MEDIAS and we have a lot in store for everyone.”
The collective currently consists of Grey, Nio, JWILLI, Meridian, Free Apollo, GOAST, Together As One, JAMES, Light Twin, and MAMBA, all of whom appear on EX MEDIAS’ inaugural compilation album, WE ARE EX MEDIAS VOL 1. Collating 10 new cuts from the collective’s members, the LP convenes future-bass, melodic-bass, synthwave, bass-house, and riddim in a dynamic framework.
