Premiere: Kyle Watson makes hau5trap debut with ‘Late Night Phone Call’
After picking up added steam within the past year, Kyle Watson has officially made his hau5trap debut with his latest deep-house outing, “Late Night Phone Call.”
The South African producer positions his oscillating percussion alongside playful vocal samples and a high-energy house beat. The multi-hyphenate has seen releases on undefeated labels such as Higher Ground, Atlantic Records, and Realm, to name just a few. Reportedly spending plenty of time and energy running through the track with a fine-toothed comb, Watson said of the brand new release,
“I wanted to keep it really simple, with a groove and drums that had to be strong enough to pull the track energy along. The sense of anticipation in the buildups contrasts really well with the drops, so when that bassline pops back in after that memorable vocal sample it just seems to hit right every time.”
Garnering support from the industry’s finest, such as Chris Lake, Diplo, and Gorgon City, Watson continues on his sonic rampage, set to hit North American festivals like CRSSD, Ubbi Dubbi, and Lightning In A Bottle.
