“‘The Originator’ is super high-energy and boasts that no one can quite do it like me,” Kyle Kinch exclusively told Dancing Astronaut. And we’d have to agree. After further stoking house fires with “Mambo” in mid-January, one of our Artists to Watch in 2022 is taking aim at sluggish dance floors with “The Originator.” The confident cut is buoyed by shuffling beat work and a coolheaded lyrical hook: “you have seen imitators, you have seen duplicators, but now, it’s time for the originator.”
Call him Kyle Kinch, or call him “The Originator”—both are accurate, although he’s billed as the former on Dirtybird CampINN’s 2022 lineup. And fortunately for Dirtybird CampINN attendees, Kinch can be caught wielding his latest candidate for heavy rotation live from the Wyndham Orlando Resort in Florida on release day (February 25). Kinch will take his talents, “The Originator” included, to the Dirtybird decks from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. on the festival’s opening day, but in the meantime, Kinch’s latest, out now via Gene Farris‘ Farris Wheel Recordings, can be streamed below.
