Zeds Dead reunite with Omar LinX for ‘Mr. Blue’
Zeds Dead surprised fans by reuniting with longtime collaborator, Omar LinX, for their newest single, “Mr. Blue.” Sharing the track without any fanfare or rollout strategy, the track finds Omar LinX and Zeds Dead settling neatly into their tried and true collaborative style.
Featuring an expanding atmosphere behind Omar LinX’s buoyant flow, the track’s lyrical content focuses on roads less traveled. After years of working together, Zeds Dead pick up where they left off with their fellow Toronto native collaborator, seamlessly blending their production framework with LinX’s gritty vocals. The resulting product manages to showcase how they’ve managed to evolve while simultaneously building upon their deeply rooted collaborative history.
Zeds Dead and Omar LinX last appeared together on the track “Leave You In The Ground,” which appeared on 2020’s We Are Deadbeats (Vol. 4) compilation album. Now, “Mr. Blue” follows LinX’s “Used To,” which appeared last year as the first single from his upcoming LP, and Zeds Dead’s joint venture with Subtronics, “Gassed Up,” released at the onset of 2022.
