EMBRZ adds to This Never Happened resume with blissful four-track EP, ‘Don’t Look Back’

A half-year after turning in Moments on This Never Happened, EMBRZ has now turned his musical page for an EP sequel to his debut album. EMBRZ didn’t wait too long into the new year before teasing that his next project was already completed and ready to go, and exactly a year removed from his last EP on This Never Happened—his three-sided Together Till It Ends EP—he’s now leading up to his six-stop opening campaign for Lane 8’s Reviver tour with Don’t Look Back.

Despite Spotify’s untimely crash on its March 8 release day, Don’t Look Back lends itself to be another praiseworthy chapter on EMBRZ’s This Never Happened resume. Introduced through its eponymous cut—where EMBRZ opted to build off on the admirable leap into songwriting he took on Moments—as well as “Visions” from Lane 8’s “Winter 2021 Mixtape,” Don’t Look Back’s four-part tracklist is finalized with two additional pieces of distinctive, blissful melodic house, with “lOnDn”—with an unexpected vocal just before the drop that EMBRZ made the correct call on his decision to keep it in—and “Break Open Colour” joining along as the Dublin talent shifts full focus towards his first Reviver date on May 6.
