Thousands of techno enthusiasts make the pilgrimage every year on Memorial Day Weekend to celebrate Detroit’s heritage and musical influence. After two long years away, Detroit’s Movement Festival has returned with perhaps its most inspired lineup yet. Talk about a comeback.

The festival’s selection of talent for the three-day event reflects the event brand’s enduring commitment to the genre and subcultures of techno, with a complementary nod to a number of other genres within the electronic orbit. Keeping in line with tradition, the festival will be taking place at the iconic riverfront Hart Plaza on May 28 through 30.

With more than 110 acts announced to play at this year’s Movement, the festival will feature special performances by the likes of Brainfeeder Records founder Flying Lotus, a set by Kevin Saunderson under his acclaimed alias E-Dancer, a back-to-back performance by Detroit techno legend Carl Craig and LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy. Additional star power on this year’s billing includes Jon Hopkins, 2 Chainz, Waajeed, Skrillex, Maya Jane Coles, The Martinez Brothers, Duck Sauce, Nina Kraviz, Chris Lake, DRAMA, The Blessed Madonna, Dom Dolla, Overmono, Soulection co-founder Joe Kay, Richie Hawtin, Maceo Plex, Seth Troxler, and so many more.
