It’s been “GAME ON” for Rich Furniss since he made his debut alongside Apollo Xo on October 2021’s “I’ll Be There.” Following fellow 2021 one-off, “Let Me Work,” and most recently, his guest appearance on Quincy Boy Records’ Friends & Family Vol. 1 (“Suddenly”), Rich Furniss is buckling in for a busy year of new material. His sophomore outing of 2022 comes in a house-meets-disco framework that wears the name “Game On.” With a danceable character that endures from first to final second, “Game On” owes part of its easy listening appeal to its piano-house arrangement, and the rest to Furniss’ ear for house sounds that warrant speaker time. And as early members of Furniss’ following will note, “Game On” expands on the soulful, refined brand of house that Furniss tapped into on “Suddenly,” signifying his step towards a more classic sound—with contemporary touches.
