Virtual Riot samples sounds from the International Space Station on ‘Sounds Of’ submission

In his “Sounds Of” submission, Virtual Riot can be found sampling sounds from a location close to Dancing Astronaut‘s heart: space. Derived from German ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer, who recorded more than 30 sounds from the International Space Station (ISS), such as ventilation noises, tones from ISS control panels, and toilet doors, the sounds are embodied in the percussion, hi-hats, and kicks of Virtual Riot’s production. Available to stream below, the unique offering is one of the latest installments in the “Sounds Of” series, which prompts musicians to sample sounds at a location of their choice and use them in an ensuing record.
