Maddy O’Neal cements herself as one to watch on Homemade Spaceship team-up, ‘Everything in Motion’
Out of Denver, Colorado comes a refreshing collision of sound derived from Maddy O’Neal’s rock and roll roots, taste for old-school hip-hop, and ear for future-bass arrangements. On her latest outing, produced alongside Homemade Spaceship, O’Neal’s texturized style strikes similarities to GriZ’s in her second single of 2022, “Everything in Motion.”
“The overall theme for this song is centered around the idea of watching time pass from a sort of existential point of view. The concept of time over the last few years has really shifted perspective in terms of enjoying the ups and downs and taking those moments to take it all in because everything is always in motion,” O’Neal said of the single’s conceptual basis.
A rising force to be reckoned with, O’Neal has tended the decks at festivals including Electric Forest, Summer Camp, and Camp Bisco. Her resume bespeaks two appearances at her home state’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and support for electronic fixtures such as Pretty Lights, Big Gigantic, The Floozies, and Cherub. And in less than one month, her list of live touring experience will expand when she hits the pavement for a nine-date headlining mini-tour, to kick off in Hawaii on May 7. Tickets to the live initiative are currently available for purchase on O’Neal’s website.
