Martin Garrix, Brooks look back on five years since ‘Byte’ with electric ‘Sentio’ reunion, ‘Quantum’

Martin Garrix and Brooks‘ crossovers never let down. A couple of weeks before Garrix hit the road for his first string of 2022 shows, he shared an Instagram story of his team testing never-before-seen visuals to the tune of a track that just about anyone could’ve expected Brooks to be involved with. And later that very same day on March 4, the STMPD RCRDS king left no room for speculation, following that story up with one of both himself and Brooks in the studio polishing their fourth meeting that was guaranteed to makes its grand debut later that month. Now, with “Follow,” “Limitless,” and “Reboot” in his Sentio single rearview, Garrix has solidified his reunion with Brooks through his debut album’s fourth addition ahead of April 29, “Quantum.”

“Quantum” follows in a similar set of footsteps as Garrix and Brooks’ first-ever pairing “Byte,” which was released exactly five years ago to the day and also made a global introduction—although this one technically popped up at Lollapalooza Chile—during the former’s stream-plagued Bayfront Park stint during Ultra 2017. And just like with “Byte,” “Boomerang“—which was released under Garrix’s GRX handle—and “Like I Do” with David Guetta, “Quantum” could not be more evenly split between the two Dutchmen’s respective brands of house perfection if they tried, walking out an absolutely electric lead on a track that just might top their prior collaborative trilogy and expectedly lengthens Sentio‘s preview streak to a unblemished four for four.

With DubVision now confirming that “Starlight” with Shaun Farrugia will fill Sentio‘s April 15 release slot, we’ll likely have to hold on until April 11 for STMPD RCRDS’ Instantly post to find out which of Garrix’s other Ultra IDs will join the album singles that currently feature Zedd, Mesto, Vluarr, and now Brooks. And if you’re still following along with the list of potential tracks that could fill Sentio‘s remaining tracklist spots on April 12, “Good Morning” with Matisse & Sadko, Garrix’s reunion with Julian Jordan, the Dutch Waters ID with DubVision, “Find You” with Justin Mylo and Dewain Whitmore, the DallasK ID, the Blinders ID, and Garrix’s confirmed Ultra finale alongside Shaun Farrugia are all still left on the board.
