Martin Garrix, Julian Jordan match up for fifth time on newest ‘Sentio’ extension, ‘Funk’

Besides “Oxygen,” there’d only been one other Ultra ID that Martin Garrix had been playing out long before 2022, and it’s officially now lucky number seven on the Sentio tracklist. The ID in question—which now goes by the name of “Funk”—dates all the way back to Electric Love this past August—which was his first in-person performance since the pandemic had hit—when the STMPD RCRDS head unloaded not one, but two originals with Julian Jordan in Austria. And for the collaborative sequel to “Diamonds,” Garrix has reunited with Jordan for a fifth time—following “BFAM,” “Welcome,” “Glitch,” and the forenamed Tinie Tempah pairing—as he continues to tack on Sentio pieces ahead of April 29.

There’s no question that while “Funk” holds the most minimalistic flavor of all five of Garrix and Jordan’s prior outings, it still absolutely works. Most likely born out of the same studio session that the two had conceived “Diamonds” in, “Funk” not only marches the originality of the longtime friends’ history forward with a stuttering-loaded, festival-angled tie-up, but also keeps the streak of Sentio bullseyes to a perfect seven for seven thus far, joining “Follow,” “Limitless,” “Reboot,” “Quantum,” “Good Morning,” and ”Starlight (Keep Me Afloat).”

With the one-week mark until Sentio is completed and “Find You” alongside Justin Mylo and Dewain Whitmore landing on April 22, Garrix has just four IDs still remaining, including the Dutch Waters ID with DubVision, the DallasK ID, the Blinders ID, and Garrix’s second Shaun Farrugia meeting.
