Matroda dispenses ‘Wasting Time’ in midst of spring 2022 tour
From April 8 – June 11, Matroda‘s spring 2022 tour will take him on a run through various international and North American cities alike, some of which are already sold-out (cc Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco). And as the Croatian talent prepares to pull out all of his disco tools, he’s adding a new one to his toolbox: “Wasting Time.”
On his fourth one-off of the year, Matroda marries elements of tech-house and classic house in his ever-dance-floor-facing style. Decidedly danceable, “Wasting Time” slaps a soulful vocal sample atop a rhythmic arrangement that would entice movement among even the most reserved of wallflowers. Steadied by speaker-filling basslines, “Wasting Time” trails Matroda’s February outputs, “Come With Me” with Rhiannon Rose, “Gotta Let You Go,” and “Touchin’ Me.” Surfacing on April 8, the same day that Matroda is set to tend the decks at Bauhaus in Houston, Texas, “Wasting Time” has the promise of live deployment in its immediate future—and then some.
