Max Low’s debut takes tech-house form—stream ‘Good Time’
The minds behind Max Low aren’t new to the music industry. With a background that bespeaks releases on Toolroom, Farris Wheel, Hood Politics, and LOW CEILING from a time that predated the Max Low project, it’s clear that the Los Angeles-anchored duo has an acute ear for dance/electronic productions with potential. And although the Seattle-born producers are distributing their records under a different alias, this sharp sense of what audiences want to hear remains audible on their debut single as Max Low, “Good Time.” Released via Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION compilation, ROTATE VOL 8, “Good Time” taps into the tech-house style that’s continued to catch fire of late. The single premiered in early April during Max Low’s appearance during a surprise set at Academy LA alongside Matroda, Black V Neck, and Cloverdale.
The energy kicks and the builds tantalize on “Good Time,” a track that can be expected to enjoy live play out at Max Low’s upcoming sets at EDC Las Vegas and Groove Cruise Cabo. A testament to the promise inherent in the Max Low project, the duo has reportedly parlayed unreleased cuts into signings with CID’s Night Service Only and Insomniac. As Max Low’s second career single percolates, “Good Time” can be streamed below.
