Perry Wayne takes no prisoners on Gud Vibrations debut, ‘MOSH’

Perry Wayne is ready to make some noise, and on “MOSH,” he does just that. The throttling dubstep cut, distributed by NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations, is the Texan’s third cut of the new calendar year, trailing, February’s “Power Moves” and March’s “Anarchy.” And though the bass genre is one in which saturation renders standing out quite the feat, Wayne does so with screamo-inflected ease on “MOSH.” A raucous, crowd-inciting number—“open up the pit we gonna mosh all night”—the BLUPILL feature packages walloping bass and in-your-face breakdowns in a heady parcel well-placed on Gud Vibrations.

The single continues Wayne’s recent succession of one-offs on globally recognized labels such as Subsidia, Disciple, and Dim Mak. As Wayne continues his rise as a tastemaker behind some of bass music’s gnarliest sounds, streamers can expect an increasing number of festival bookings and collaborations to strengthen his early resume. Already, the rising force has sonically rubbed shoulders with Riot Ten and YDG on joint productions while nabbing slots at Lost Lands 2021 and Ubbi Dubbi. What’s coming next for Wayne is as big as the bass that he lays down in “MOSH,” now streaming below.
